I introduced Isaiah to crayons, pencils and pens sometime ago. He has been enjoying learning how to color while the floor tiles and various walls around the house have taken a beating. Thank goodness for the washable crayons.

A Two Year Old Upon Us-
My first baby is going to be TWO next week!?! We are going to have his party at one of our FAVORITE PARKS in town with friends and family. When we discuss Isaiah's birthday with him we go over who will be coming to his party and he is able to repeat all the names. He is also able to answer you when you ask how old he will be turning, but he has no interest in learning how to hold up two fingers. In fact when I go to grab his hand he adamantly takes it back and hollers, NOOOOOOO!"
- His imagination is out of this world. He literally will spend a good 45 minutes with his Buzz and Woody toy figurines talking to himself and taking them all over the house, putting them behind pillows or hanging them from Jonathan's various mobiles. It is fascinating to watch his little mind work.
-He loves pointing out Jaime's fishing poles in the garage. Every time we go to the garage he shouts "Fishing, Fishing!" He even loves flipping through all of Jaime's fishing magazines?! One of his favorite toys is the toy tackle box with two fishing poles that have magnetic fish that hook on the end of them.
-He has become very aware of Jonathan and has discovered a new talent-making his brother (and mommy) laugh.
-He is very particular when it comes to his bottles. When he is done drinking from one he does not toss the bottle to the side. He either has to have you grab the bottle from him or he will get up and put it on the kitchen counter himself. The bottle he drinks before going to sleep is ALWAYS nicely placed on his head board. I suppose my OCD of tidiness is wearing off on him or is it in his DNA as well?
-Jaime and I frequent our favorite Shushi restaurant which has lead to Isaiah loving edemame and miso soup. He also loves rice. . .spanish rice being his favorite.
-He still loves sitting down with all his books although lately he has been ripping out all the pages:(
-Toy Story, Dinosaurs, Yo Gabba, Gabba, and Cars are on the top of his radar.
-He loves going to the Park. He has no fear when it comes to climbing the various bars, sliding down the steepest slides, or swinging high on the swings.
-He loves when I turn on the Stereo and dancing to all my hip hop jams. LMFO-"Party Rock" is his favorite song to dance too.
-He loves chasing Nugget and the ball around the house. Although it was cause for concern when Nugget would "cheat" and go out his doggy door with the ball. Isaiah wasn't haven't it any longer and started using the dogie door again to go after him:(. A few spankings later he now just stands at the door and screams "Noooo, Nooooo when Nugget takes his escape route.

-He loves opening the fridge when he wants milk or a PB&J (the jam is within his reach).
-He is getting very good at saying "peas" and "yank ooo" for please and thank you.
-He loves to run-whether it is around the house or outside.
-He is finally a PRO at going to bed and taking his afternoon naps.
Isaiah you are our "little Pistol," We love you beyond words. Watching you grow makes everyday new and exciting. We love you!!!

Jonathan at 4 mths

- He is still sleeping like a champ. Bed time is 0730. He sleeps until 4 am then awakens to drink 6 ozs of formula, but quickly returns to his slumber until 6-630am.
-He is grabbing and holding onto things.
-Rattles, toys, blankets, bottles...you name it he wants it in his mouth.
-It is so easy to make him giggle.
-He loves to be spoken to and will carry on quite the conversation with you. As he coos he raises his eyebrows and contorts his lips to let you know- he knows exactly what is up.
-He is so mellow and happy ALL the time, so when he does get upset it is hilarious. When he is hungry or overly tired the beast comes out in him. His body stiffens up and he lets out these loud grunts.
-His new favorite spot is in his Farmyard Jumperoo. He loves bouncing himself up and down and having Isaiah come play along side him.
-I tried feeding him rice cereal a few days back, but he wasn't having it:(.
-He is wearing 6-9mth outfits.
-He is so giddy when Isaiah shows him some attention. Whether it be because he is making noises that Isaiah is curious about or Isaiah wanting to show him some love-Jonathan either starts giggling or breaks out with a huge smile when Isaiah comes his way.
-He loves getting his diaper changed, dressed, or his nose suctioned. He just lays on his changing table with that adorable smile of his and coos away.
-He is still enjoying his nightly bath. I can't wait to get him in the pool this summer.
-He is getting better at tummy time, but that is one thing he does not completely enjoy.
-Jonathan you are my BIG, BEAUTIFUL, BABY BOY!!!
"B" for Bushels of Babies
The Torres family is growing. In the last two years Jaime's parents went from having ZERO grandchildren to now having THREE GRAND-BOYS. Jaime's sister delivered Andrew two days before Christmas. The other day I had the pleasure of watching Andrew and I couldn't help but chuckle seeing them all lined up. They are all TOO ADORABLE for words!
Man's Best Friend
Ohhh...the woes of being the second child. I never would of imagined "propping" a bottle for Isaiah, but when you have two boys that want to be fed at the same time sometimes you have to do the unthinkable. No worries though, Nugget our beloved dachshund stepped in to create some tender loving care while Mr. Jay drank his bottle.
Hat-YO!
Brotherly Love
Nothing makes me more happy than seeing my two handsome, baby boys interacting with each other. Jonathan loves when Isaiah shows him some attention and I love it too. Isaiah loves to rock Jonathan when he is in his swing. And while Jonathan hangs out in his "Jumperoo" Isaiah will casually go over all the items. In the picture above Isaiah is saying, "corn" for corn and look how attentive Jonathan is being ( I see a straight A student in the making).
Sleeping Beauty-Part II
Remember when I posted that I have hundreds of pictures of Jonathan sleeping? Well I wasn't lying! I love sneaking in and watching the MASTER SLEEPER sleep. He's so good at it. His arms are always placed perfectly above his head and the rest of his body is so relaxed. It's no wonder after all his slumbers he wakes up cooing and smiling from ear to ear.
