J & I at 6 months

Jonathan at 6 months

                                                                                         Isaiah at 6 months

Jonathan and Isaiah are so different yet so similar.  Isaiah was crawling at six months while we are still waiting on Jonathan's crawling debut.  Isaiah was still waking up countless times during the night while Jonathan only wakes up once.  As Jonathan is getting older he is getting more of that feisty personality that Isaiah has always possessed.  I love my two little handsome men.  Posting this picture of Isaiah makes me realize how fast the time goes...and I'm OK with Jonathan taking his dear sweet time learning to crawl.

Hello Terrible Two's

The cliche's are all true.  Two-year-old's are over the top with their whining, crying, and quick tempers.   I have one moody child on my hands and I have the pictures to prove it.  All I can say is thank goodness I am doing this "child rearing" in my thirties because there is no way I had the patience in my twenties to take on a day with my cranky, beastly two-year-old Isaiah.  ***I've also been warned that this is a great precursor to how he will be as a teenager.  Lord, help me!

Our first Convo-Isaiah at 24 mths

Isaiah's language skills keep getting stronger and stronger ever week.  Two weeks ago I was in awe when Isaiah and I just had our first real yet (brief) conversation together.  As I stood at my bathroom mirror getting ready for the day Isaiah was watching a cartoon on my bed.  Ten minutes prior I had just put Jonathan down for his first morning nap.   Isaiah goes, "Mama, Mama?"  I responded, "Yes, Isaiah?"  He then goes, " Mama, where Johnjohn?" Me:  He's sleeping.  Isaiah-"oh," followed by a huge grin.  I could tell he was so proud of himself for being able to ask his question and get an answer.  I love being able to communicate with my little man.

PS The mark in between Isaiah's eyes is not from me or my camera.  Ironically I was planning on taking the boys in to get some professional photos but the night before Isaiah ran smack dab into the corner of  one of our book shelves. Needless to say the photo appointment was cancelled.

Photo Bombing

This picture cracks me up every time I see it.  I think it sums up the life of a second child.  Here I am trying to get some six month photos of Jonathan when who suddenly appears?  Big Bro is always trying to steal the spot light. . .LOL!

New Boy, New Toy

Jonathan wants to move around so badly I thought a baby walker might make him happy.  Unfortunately his legs are still to short for it so in the meantime Isaiah has been pushing him around making it more like his wheel chair than walker?!? Either way Jonathan is getting a kick out of his new toy.  I'm just happy to say this ITEM was specifically bought for Jonathan.  Jonathan has taken seconds on the nursery and all the other baby gear so I was happy to finally give him something of his own...albeit an extravagant toy from Walmart but hey it's a start!
PS-The redness in between Jonathan's eyes is from me accidently whamming him with the camera lens. . .thankfully he has one solid head like his big bro:)

Change Much-"J's Turn"

If you remember this post Change Much? you will be remember how intrigued I was with the dramatic change that occurred in Isaiah from the age of one month to six months.  The same holds true with Jonathan.  Jonathan's looks and movements may have changed but he is still the sweet, relaxed, and happy go lucky baby I met six months ago.

Jonathan at 6 mths

STATS-17 Lbs 13 oz (55%), 28" (95%), Head circumference 43.5 cm

Jonathan is SIX MONTHS!!!!  What a huge achievement on everyone's part.  I remember feeling the same way with Isaiah...like I had just crossed the finish line of a marathon.  My little sister gave me great advice before I had Isaiah (don't worry after three months things start to get better).  Although true I have found the six  month marker to be where I truly feel myself again and happily saying goodbye to the newborn phase:)

-Jonathan is the rolling King.  He rolls forward, backwards, and sideways.  He wants to crawl or just get around so badly that he is becoming very irritable when I put him in his swing or Jumperoo.  His most preferable place to be is in your arms because he can see everything that is going on and "move around" the house with ease.
-He loves all his baby food minus the green peas.
-He is still spitting up...ALL THE TIME and EVERYWHERE:(
-He's discovered a new growling voice that he likes to use often.  He has started to babble especially when I'm talking to Isaiah.

-He gets a kick out of chasing Isaiah around the house.  Jaime or I will hold him with our arms extended and facing forward and yell,  "I'm going to get you Isaiah."  Isaiah then takes off screaming and Jonathan is ALL smiles and giggles as we chase his big bro from room to room.
-He is trying so hard to sit on his own but has yet to master the technique.
-He loves his baths.  He takes one every night before going to bed.
-His bedtime routine starts at 7-730pm and includes a bath, being lotioned down, jammies, 6 0z bottle of formula with being rocked to sleep.  Lights out and off to dreamland by 8pm.
-He loves being outside.
-He just discovered lemons when we were out to dinner the other night for Grandma Betty's birthday.  He chewed through four lemon slices as though they were nothing!
-We left him for the first time with Grandma Betty while Jaime and I did a weekend get away to Vegas.  He wasn't even phased.  But when we did return he was all smiles and happy to see his Mama and Papa again.
-No teeth yet, but he is a pile a drool and wants to chew on anything that will help relieve his gums...my chin being one of his favorites??!!??
-He is wearing 9-12 month clothing.
-He wakes up either at 2:30 or 4 am to drink 6 oz then he"ll go back to sleep until 6 or 6:30 am.
-He takes a mid morning and afternoon nap.  Each nap is about an hour to an hour and half long.
-Jonathan is still such a happy baby.  All it takes is one look his way and he piles on the smiles.  We are loving every minute of him getting bigger, more vocal, and charismatic.  It is such a treat watching him grow!

Roly Poly-Jonathan at 6 mths

Jonathan finds his way around our house by rolling everywhere.  Every now and then he happens upon a certain spot that keeps him quite content for minutes (which for "Mama time". . .I'll take what I can get).  This particular day it was his bedroom door that he happily rolled upon.
