My baby is turning two today and I can't stop smothering him with kisses. Jaime, Isaiah, and myself could not even fathom our family without him. He makes all of our hearts sing! Here's what our JohnJohn is up to at TWO YEARS OLD:
-Sings along to Thomas&Friends theme song or hums the tune going "dededededeet..."
-He is very skiddish when something scares him on the tv. He'll run and hide or cover his face. When we are at the movie theater he insists on sitting on my lap and his whole body will tense up and he'll grab on to me real tight when scene or character scares him. It's so sweet and innocent to me.
-Runs with really high knees around the house when he gets extra happy.
-Loves carrots and pancakes. Every morning at breakfast time he says, "I want pancakes, Mama." "Yeah, I want pancakes."
-Always requests to watch Thomas and Friends when asked if he wants to watch a show.
-He is extra sensitive when Jaime gets mad at him. He will get this huge frown on his face and look down toward the ground..."I sorry, I sorry" he mopes.
-When I have to reprimand him he will sometimes scurry over to Isaiah and mumbles quietly, "brother...brother." (Like he's saying, help me get out of this situation Isaiah). Makes me laugh every time.
His vocabulary is off the charts. Some examples are: I will ask him "where's your train?" and he'll say, "maybe downstairs?" The other day I was getting after Isaiah for throwing his cup of chocolate milk and Jonathan turns and asks me, "Isaiah a bad boy?" "What'd he do?" And then he starts pointing at Isaiah, and shouting "you better stop!" you better stop!"
-You name it, he's saying it, and even conjugating. He'll get up from his nap and Jaime have left to work, so he'll ask me, "where's dad?" and I'll reply, "he's at work." And then he goes, "he's working?"
-Last two days he has peed on the toilet. And he put "chonnies" on for the first time on his birthday.
-He is fascinated with looking at Isaiah's turds. I think it all started because Isaiah refuses to flush down his poop until I go in there and see it (even though I ask him to get rid of it before I go into wipe him). Jonathan is always right along side me, exclaiming "Wow!" "Wow!"
-Is obsessed with the song "Gangnam Style." Him and Isaiah both run around the house singing "Whooping Sky" "Whoop, whoop, whooping sky."
-He loves staying busy. Whether it is playing in the playroom, coloring, water painting, driving around his miniature car, going upstairs to play with his trains, pulling the couch apart to build a fort/create tunnels or jumping off the window sill onto the cushions, he is on the go. And then he'll catch a glimpse of the sunshine outside and ask to go play outside or take a walk.
-He is always by Isaiah's side. If he gets up before Isaiah, he'll climb up into my bed asking "where's Isaiah, Mama?"
-FINALLY OFF THE BOTTLE (one day after his Bday).
-Still sleeping in his crib
-No sign of the terrible two's from this sweet boy yet:)
WE LOVE YOU JOHNJOHN!! HAPPY 2nd Birthday!!!
