-Isaiah at four is becoming Mr Independent. He gets himself dressed in the morning (with alot of prodding) and has no problem putting his pajamas on after I get him out of his evening bath/shower. Away he goes to do his thing and my gosh! is it incredible to have him come back completely dressed and ready for bed (still supervising teeth brushing). In the morning for breakfast he will gather the cereal, bowl and spoon and at lunch if he wants a peanut butter and jelly sandwich he rounds up all the items for me to make his sandwich.
-He loves to drink Hot Coco when he is cold. He acts like he is "drinking his coffee" and bird watches at the kitchen window.
-He puts his shoes on by himself and then tries and help Jonathan put his shoes on.
-He can buckle and unbuckle himself from his car seat. He loves this new skill.
-He loves watching Curious George and Power Rangers
-At the park, in the middle of the grocery store, just randomly around the house he will say " I love you MAMA." (I always make him give me a kiss after telling me such sweet things)
-"See you when you wake up." Every night he has to say this to me as I'm leaving his room for the night. He is a bit OCD with his nightly routine. Mommy, (NOT DADDY) has to be the one to "fix his blanket" which is a simply tuck under his chin. He has to have his night water cup and it has to be placed exactly in the same spot he places it every night. And he has to say to me..."see you when you wake up," as I am turning out the light and leaving his bedroom. And if I don't respond back with "see you when you wake up." He will keep saying it until he gets that response from me. OCD, I tell you. The remarkable thing is how content he is going to bed. There are nights when he is put down at nine and when I retire to bed at 10:30pm he is still up but happily chilling in his bed.
-Funny story, when we were up at my parents house this past week they were sharing the queen pull-out bed at night and for their naps. At nap-time Jonathan was upset and crying that he didn't want to take a nap. I had left the room only to hear Isaiah saying " Johnjohn stop crying, shut your mouth, ok?" "You want Daddy to come spank you?" J keeps crying and Isaiah keeps repeating himself, he very sweetly tells him, "shut your mouth, ok?" Jonathan keeps whimpering and never fully responds to Isaiah, but eventually he listened to Isaiah and went to sleep. "Shut your mouth, ok?" HILARIOUS!!!
-Also when he asks a question he follows it with yes or no. "Do you want to go outside?" "Yes or NO?"
"Do you want to ride your bike?" "Yes or NO?" "Do you want cereal for breakfast?" "Yes or no?"
Although I don't think I have ever used the term "shut your mouth." The "yes or no?" does sound a bit familiar:)
-When Jonathan and Isaiah are wrestling and Jonathan gets hurt, Isaiah will tell him "you're a tough guy!" "Come on, you're a tough guy!" And Isaiah has also clued in to my high reaction time when Jonathan is crying. So many times, he will chime in fake crying along with Jonathan's fake cries...like mom I'm hurt too, I didn't do anything.
-He is a champ with walking the two mile loop with me. He never sits in the stroller anymore;(.
-His new favorite thing is going and getting a smoothie. His favorite shows are Curious George, Power Rangers, and Transformers.
