Isaiah @ Five

March 4, 2015-Isaiah at FIVE years old

-Star War addict- Jaime took him to pick out a new pair of shoes and the new pair he wanted ( A particular color of Star Wars) they did not have in his size.  Isaiah had no problem waiting for two weeks until the exact ones we wanted were shipped to our house.

-Very strong willed and stubborn yet sweet and sensitive all at the same time.  I like to set out their outfits but  on most days (including his birthday) he bypasses the clothes I put out for him and gets the shirt and pants HE wants to wear.  I've stopped laying out his clothes.

-He has some OCD tendencies, especially with his bedtime routine.  After we brush his teeth, he has to look in the mirror, flash a big, white smile and exclaim, "now I'm clean."  If Jaime and I don't stand there and acknowledge this he gets upsets.  His water cup has to be perfectly placed in the exact position every night along with his pillow and blanket.  And we always must go together and tell Jonathan good night and then he does exactly three spins in the middle of Jonathan's bedroom before retiring to his own bed.

-He is such a great big brother.  He is always looking out for Jonathan.  When I go to pick them up from preschool, Isaiah will sometimes spot me first.  Instead of coming directly to me he makes sure to go get Jonathan to bring him to me as well.  He also never hesitates to share with Jonathan.  An example, he came across a bag of cookies and wanted to put them in his lunch for the next day.  Immediately, he thinks to put some in Jonathan's lunch box too.  I love how thoughtful he is.

-At the same time he also loves to tease and wrestle with Jonathan.   He'll tell Jonathan, "you're so cute."  Because Jonathan HATES to be called cute.  Or another one Isaiah loves to say when trying to push Jonathan's buttons is "you're a baby, Johjohn."  Because, again Jonathan hates to be called a baby.

-On Isaiah's fifth birthday I asked him a few questions and these were his responses:
Q:  What do you want to be when you grow up?"
A:  A kid, just a kid, and that's it.

Q:  Are you afraid of anything?
A:  No...I'm afraid of spiders...maybe???  (I always tell him he can't be afraid of spiders because all it takes is the wack of a shoe to kill them).

Q:  Who's your favorite person?
A:  Jackson (this is his best friend in pre-school)

Q:  What is your favorite food?
A:  Blueberries

Q:  What is your favorite thing to do?
A:  Play the I-Pad

Q:   What is your favorite song?
A:  "Turn Down For What?"  (by DJ Snake feat Lil John)

Q:  What is your favorite color and animal?
A:  Blue and an Elephant
